Another Week!
Another week! We will start at the bottom and work up. Jill, of course, is the sweetest and cutest baby there ever was. She smiles all the time now if we smile first at her. She talks and grunts all the time and the kids think it is great. There is a very nice lady at the home school group named Christina. She let me borrow her fleece sling. It is *so* great! I will add a picture of Jill in it to the photo page. It is snugly warm and very tight so that the baby is right there against me and does not swing around when I move or bend over. I love it. I am debating buying one for myself…..we will see…….I have a long list now. ;)
Junie is doing well. Dori’s little boy Noah always clunks her in the head and we can’t get him to stop. So I told June the other day “If Noah hits you you need to hit him back.” June says “Hit him soft?” I say “No, hit him hard! Bop him on the head!” and she gets a little upset, “No mom, hit him soft, like this.” and she moves her hand in super slow motion to show me how to hit soft. LOL She is such a sweet kid!
Jessie has had a better week. She has been thinking before doing things and that makes my job so much easier. She actually had a conversation with Jeff the other day and no one got annoyed. She has not had any incidents in her bedroom lately so I have allowed her to move all of her toys back in her room. So far she has handled it all very well.
Jacob has been practicing riding his bike lately. We went to the park the other day and he was practicing riding and a lot of falling down practice. He is wild! He stands up and peddles as fast as he can until he biffs it. LOL I need to get him back in BMX racing as he would be so good at it!
John has been his quiet self. I have noticed how much better he is now at thinking two steps ahead. The other day I was watching him as the kids were sitting down eating at the table. He got up to get his water bottle and noticed June’s water bottle was close to the edge of the table so he moved it up. Then he noticed that her lid was on the floor and he picked that up as well. What a good kid he is. :) It is nice to see how much he has changed. I used to pull my hair out with him. He did tell me the other day that Patty didn’t feed him. She only fed Jacob and Jessie. When I asked why she only fed Jacob and Jessie he said because Patty didn’t like him. I said “How do you know she didn’t like you? Did she tell you that?” He said that yes she had said she would not feed him because she did not like him. How sad is that? He also let me know that they owned a cat named Patty (Yes, same name as their mother) and their grandparents own a dog named Lucy. I am trying to write these things down so they can have some sort of memory about their mother.
I had been having trouble with some of Jenna’s not nice behavior but today I spent most of the day doing things with only her. The other kids decided to play instead of finish their chores so they stayed upstairs until it got done. They did not come down until 1:45pm!! What were they thinking? They were very hungry. But Jenna and I got a lot done. I washed the dishes that would not fit in the dishwasher and Jenna dried and put away. Then at nap-time we worked on an outfit she is sewing for Jessie’s birthday. Jenna has been wanting to sew. Jenna has also been reading more of the American Girl series. I had to bribe her a dollar for each book but now she loves them and that is all she talks about. “Josefina this and Josefina that.” I read the book to try to quiz her on it and she had already told me the most important parts of the book so I had trouble finding questions to ask!! She reads them in one day. But they are so educational! Each girl is set in a different time period and she just learned about life in New Mexico in 1824. The back of each book has a little history lesson and I have decided we will do a unit study on each book set after she has read them. That would be too fun! But Jenna has been so nice today since getting all of that undivided attention.
Jeff and I have been very busy with work. Well, Jeff has been busy, I have been consistent. I have been making phone calls every night for at least one hour. I can get about 3 leads in an hour. This week was slow though, Sunday I didn’t call because of the super bowl, Monday Jill was awake the whole time and I had to deal with her because Jeff was on appointments, Tuesday I was calling and one lady I called said “Ya I’m busy I’m listening to the President!” Oh, oops. Not many calls got made that night! LOL But the funny thing is when I finally did make calls on Wednesday things went *so* well! I called one lady on Monday before Jill started squawking, she
