WOO HOO! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!
Even though my side of the family lives here in Phoenix and is only 45 minutes away we barely see them. We are busy with life, they are busy with life, so we get together twice a year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year we did have the treat of my Dad coming out during the 4th of July weekend to help assemble a playground that he helped buy the kids for Christmas last year!! Ya, we had to wait for the HOA to approve it to put it up in OUR OWN backyard. But anyway…
Tomorrow we get to visit with my family. They are so nice and sweet and accepting of my family. This means alot to me being that my Dad is really my step Dad and my parents did not marry until I was 13 (although we moved in when I was ten) and then they divorced when I was 19. :::insert rolling eyes here:::: My kids are so excited, I am excited. So tomorrow we will get everything ready for dinner at 4pm. We have to leave here at 3pm. So prior to about 2pm I need to do these things:
Wash the kids nice clothes I want them to wear.
Cut 5 of the boys hair (Jonah doesn’t get haircuts yet!)
Bathe all the little kids (Just 6 of them!!)
Brush and fix the girls hair.
Make a green bean side dish.
Make a sweet potato side dish.
Check Jason’s fingernails that they got cut (yuck, they are so long!!).
Oh ya, the twins’ nails too!
In addition to those things I need to fix breakfast and lunch and take care of a 2 month old and 10 other children ages 10 and under! LOL (School? What’s that? Never on Thanksgiving!)
I think that is it. Did I do ANY of those things today you ask? Of course not! I need my adrenaline fix!! I work best under pressure. ;) What I did today was hung out with a new friend of mine at the park for several hours, then we picked up some fast food junk and went to her house to socialize for another couple hours. Now we are home and the kids are toast because they skipped naps and it is 6:30pm and I think we are going to have popcorn for dinner in front of a movie before we hit the sack at 7pm!! The kids are filthy, I am filthy, we are all TIRED and tomorrow is an exciting day. I am having one of those “All is good in the world” moments. Ask me how I feel tomorrow at 1pm!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
