Games

The weather is beautiful!! We have had a cold snap here. That means that it is 35 degrees at night and 65 during the day.

We got all the laundry folded and put away today. :) Hoorah! And we visited Dr. Charlie and I took them some cinnamon rolls. I made cinnamon rolls and 4 loaves of bread and Jeff made 4 loaves of bread yesterday. I also cooked 2 chickens for more chicken stock and de-boned them yesterday. Needless to say I was very busy!! My legs told me about it last night.

I want to share three very fun games with you guys. We play games several nights a week and we have 3 new favorites. UNO used to be our only choice really because of the number of players and ages of our players.

Cranium Cadoo for Kids Board GameWell, Jennifer (Jeff’s sister) sent us a great Christmas present of a game called Cadoo.  It is a wonderful game for all ages. You know, the parents enjoy it and the kids can too. Not like Candy Land or HI-Ho Cherry-o that is boring for parents!

Several weeks ago Jeff bought a game called Cinq-O that is super fun.

Cinq-o Dice Game

Cinq-o Dice Game

Cinq-O is the fun, portable dice game where you build up points by trying to roll the perfect Hi score or the perfect Low score. Be the first player to roll the game winning score. 1-6 players Ages: 7 and up

Think Yahtzee on a small scale. It also helps the kids work on their math as they have to add and multiply (simple multiplication) with each turn. You keep track of scores on a sheet of paper. It is probably best suited for ages 7 and up.

Cranium Zigity Tin EditionAnd the third game is another game by Cranium called Zigity. It is a card game but you have to spell (short words), add (to 11) and match up some other things. It is pretty cool and even a 5 year old could play with a little help. So far Cadoo has been my favorite but it is fun to mix it up. :)

We love Cadoo and for the littles, Caribou is a nice, simple fun game!! I’ll have to look at the others you mentioned. I’ve heard lots of good reviews about the Muggins games. Have you looked into any of them? http://www.mugginsmath.com/

For all you Uno lovers, we got Uno attack for Christmas and it’s been a big hit here! Very fun to wait and watch to see who gets "dumped" with cards when it’s their turn to hit the button!!

We love Cranium games around here. We got Conga for Christmas and we all love it (ages 5-30) It’s similar to Cadoo but you have to guess the others persons answers and there’s a fun little timer thingie. I’ll have to check Cinq-o. We’re big on games too ;-)
