Told the Kids About Marissa
The kids are confused and keep asking “why? why? why?” Junie and Jacob asked “Why don’t they want Marissa to live with us?” Junie said “It would be better if Marissa could live with her real family.” She means a biological family. I’d agree. I’d say there should be some extenuating circumstances that would prevent biological family members from living together. Be it parents or siblings.
Jason is quiet. He is sullen. He is processing. I’m sure I’ll hear his thoughts on the matter in several days. I assured him that we will send Marissa cards and gifts and he suggested that he make her some things. That would be a nice way for him to stay connected with her. Even if the Leber’s never reciprocate, we know we made effort on our end.
I’m going to put together a binder so we can save copies and pictures of everything we send her. Just in case the Lebers decide to hide everything from her we will have everything all saved to give her later.
What are they thinking????? I can’t imagine doing what they just did.
