A Clarification.

The tumor was no longer malignant.  When they opened up Jillian for surgery what they found was a mass of dead cells.  They removed the dead cells and any surrounding tissue that the dead cells were attached to, including a lung.

I also need to make it clear that I do give the allopathic world some credit for the treatment and great care we have received.  Clearly the chemo shrunk the tumor.  Jillian was in a desperate situation and PCH and the doctors were there to help.  For that I am eternally grateful.

At this time I am feeling like our family was violated.  I wish we had been given a choice to leave the dead cells and healthy lung in Jillian.  We were not even told the results of what the surgeon found until DAYS after everyone else knew.  People I worked with DAILY with held the information.

I’m confused about how parents are treated as so unimportant.  I am hurt that the people I trusted with my daughters life didn’t trust me to make the right choice for her health.  How did we end up here?  I am disappointed and hurt.

I am rejoicing because of her healing but I am mourning the state of the medical establishment.  Is Jillian just a statistic now?  Something the doctors can check off their list?  "Oh now I’ve treated a rare form of cancer." or "Now I’ve removed a pleura."  Is it all about notches in their belts?  It certainly does not appear to be about Jillian right now.
