Great Day!!

August 8, 2007

Written by: Katie

After breakfast and cleaning the kitchen we did a crafty.  We made suncatchers.

Beads for the big kids and painted for the little kids.

They had to use tweezers to place the beads.

Then we went to a friend’s house to swim!!

Look Mom, I’m floating on my back.

We came home to find that today was “Box Day”!!!  As I emptied our Sonlight boxes I handed the books out to the kids.  They called out “Can I see that one Mom?”  Cores B, 1 and 6 for those that are wondering.

Jonah

Jonah after being told the books are off limits to him now because he was not being nice with them.

And then there was silence.  And piles of literature.

Silence from everyone except Donut.

And my job tonight was assembling Instructor Guides.

All in all a fabulous day!!  Tomorrow is chemo.  I’ll go with Jill.

Sarah and I go to the doctor every 3 months for her check-ups. And she gets her A1C hemoglobin test. I call it the “Parental Diabetes report card”. When it is a good score everyone pats you on the back, when it is a not so good score (usually due to illness) they look at you as if you were giving your child 5 pound bags of sugar for each meal. Each year she gets the full blood, urine and other auto immune disorder bloodwork.(Yes other diseases are attached to this, no wonder I am nuts) That is when I am definately on The GOD phone. Anyway.. prayers and courage for your hospital visit. PS My sister sent me a birthday card with a weiner dog on it. Even my sister called me a weenie. SHEESH!!! Toodles, Barb

Long time no see!
Praying all goes well at chemo, Katie. How FUN to get piles and piles of books in the mail!! I’d love to hear how you do Sonlight with so many. Do you have two “study groups” of children in each level?
Donut’s picture reminds me of how Ian looks…oh, about all day long. LOL! Except he was really good yesterday afternoon, I give him credit.

Yay! The pictures are great, we love Sonlight, my 13 yr. old will be doing Core 5 this year. Core 1 is great, y’all will love it! We haven’t done 6 yet, but I’m looking forward to it.
The rest of my kiddos will do WinterPromise Children Around the World, so it will mesh pretty well with Core 5.

Me again.. Showing the boys your new photos and we all had to giggle because it looks like Jennab is reading a book upside down. Is she? The boys think she looks a bit baffled. Too funny. Anyway, the boys anxiously await the answer.
Thanks for another great blog entry. Keep up the work. You are such a blessing to our family.
