Life Gets in the Way

Well… I got 3 boxes packed. That’s good right? I mean, that’s enough for one day, right? Actually, what happened was several of my children were very naughty last night. Only I didn’t find out about it until today. And then several of them decided to lie about what actually happened. So we spent the better part of the day playing detective. Thankfully my husband is excellent with interrogations…minus the stretching rack and shock therapy. In fact there were not even any bright lights in their faces. Just well worded questions and truth serum. Ok, there was no truth serum. But the questions snagged them up big time. We did finally get to the bottom of the story and we have made changes to ensure this naughtiness is not repeated. Good grief, can I lock them all in cages?

There were some funny parts in the midst of this otherwise depressing discovery. During the twins’ interrogation they fumbled about so innocently (even though they too were guilty) and were trying desperately to explain themselves while Jeff made sideways jokes I could not help but laugh. At one point I just giggled and giggled and had to tell Jeff “I just love 5 year olds!” We had to stop the questioning so I could pull myself together.

I had my 2 seconds of “Why do I even bother?” but it was short lived and I’m completely over it now.

In other news Junie had her hair cut today.

Voila!!  I love short hair!!

And my favorite shirt.  I think I was looking at Donut as he tried to grab the koala.  That koala was sent to us by Linda in CO who now lives in Australia.  It sings Waltzing Matilda which I think is a charming song.

Ok, today I am getting alot of packing done.  I don’t think we will be leaving on Monday.  Hmph.  Maybe Wednesday. :)

My bil is a professional interrogator/gater? in a big Texas city….I always tease his kids that they can’t get away with anything because he has been trained on all the signs of people pulling a fast one……….

The shirt, combined with the clutching the koala and the down turned eyes which appear to be praying…oh it is just too much! I love it! There are so many subtitles I could think of for it, where to begin?
Sounds like you are doing great getting ready. We are going to be praying for you on your journey…sure wish it went by here! :) So are you going to pack up EVERYTHING and then unplug the computer on the way out the door?

I knew that would get your attention ;-) but I had to smile to hear you have “those days” too. I guess I’ve had your children pictured as just about perfect and I was discouraged because I frequently think “I wish I could be more like Katie because she’s ALWAYS on top of things”. And I know you usually are. And when I grow up I still wanna be a mom like you :-D Anyway thanks for sharing that. Thanks for saying you had two seconds of “why do I even bother” I’m afraid some days mine lasts longer than two seconds but it IS getting better. I REFUSE to go backwards.
Blessings Katie,
Renee
