Hail Mary! er… Hail Ozark!

Hail… the size of quarters.

You don’t see that in Phoenix.

Wow!

This is after they had melted some.

See the rain coming down?
We all moved down into the basement until the worst of it passed. Katie will have pictures of that for you later…

I was praying for y’all last night after i watched the weather and saw that line of storms right up your alley.
I’m glady you’re okay, though hail is no fun and can do lots of damage. It looks like it was a rough night for a lot of folks. We’re about to get hit with the first wave of it ourselves.
Hope your roof is okay!

Hey — I saw lightening and heard thunder up here in Southern Iowa — you know this is not normal January weather, don’t you. LOL
Neat photos — what a fun year of memories you are creating this year.

I knew you would have pictures of the hail. :) As soon as the first tornado sirens sounded, I thought “they liked the snow and ice, wonder what they think of this?”. Hope you can sleep in this morning!

I prayed for y’all in the middle of the night…welcome to the midwest. More to come in the spring. I’m glad that you went to the basement. Not this last year but the year before we had three weeks with tornado warnings every night at 2AM. I became an expert at getting ten children down to the basement…watching a Dvd while I listened to the radio with headphones….it can be scary. Did your sirens go off….Did you know that not every time it hails there is a tornado….but that every tornado is preceded by hail….So when you see hail…basement is a good thing. I’m glad you are all ok….

Wow…. we haven’t had hail in while! It is pretty scary stuff, especially if a tornado is coming! ACK!
I am glad you are fine.
Have a beautiful day!
Love,
Chas

Just watched the news online and thought I’d check in on you guys. I was expecting that we were going to have a hairy night too, but the storm passed over fairly quiet this time. I wish we had a basement, but apparently Texans like to live life on the wild side. lol As soon as we can, we are going to put in an underground shelter. Hope you all got some rest.

We have hail that size in Tucson… When the pickup truck was brand new we had to have the hood replaced because of hail damage. It was a freak kind of hailstorm. The hail was disc shaped anywhere from 2 to 4 inches across. It did lots of damage to vehicles that were not under cover. To say nothing of how badly it hurt if you got hit by it!! Thankfully we haven’t had any of that kind of hail since.
The last photo is really neat looking!!

Wow! Cool Pics! I have seen hail about the size of marbles that nicely dented in the roof of our car in MO but not that big.
