Poor Planning on My Part

Mondays and Thursdays are the days we pick up milk.  Well, I don’t know what I was doing all day but dinner did not get started.  Katie was taking a nap and I didn’t want to wake her, thinking she would wake up soon.  So I waited for her to get up, but by then it was around 6 PM – too late to start dinner.  We all got ready and left to get the milk.  On the way out there I asked what she wanted for dinner – I told her to choose whatever she wanted and we would go there.  At least I think that’s how it went.

emptyjars

Our empty jars… in an "Organic Bowel Cleanse Powder" box.  Don’t ask.

van

Loaded up and ready to go!  No, the trailer is not attached.

Lamberts only takes cash and checks and since I do not carry either with me we had to stop at the ATM across the street to get cash.  $140 ought to cover it, right?  Actually, it only cost about $80 – that is with the tip, but I figure since I am paying $4 to use the ATM I might as well take out more cash.  And besides, we got a free lunch last week when a very generous man bought our lunch at Gem of India.

lambertssign

I should have known something wasn’t right when I saw the sign.

salad

Katie’s honkin’ salad!  The ham tasted like it had been cured with formaldehyde.  See Jill eating her mashed potatoes?  They tasted like they had sugar in them.  I don’t think it was really sugar.  I think they had some bad taters in the pot.  Our waiter brought me out some more, but they tasted the same.

When I saw the sign I should have turned away.  You know, we have never had a problem with their food before.  So, if you ever see that "HOME" is not lit up on their sign you should find some other place to eat.

At least the atmosphere is always nice!

Lina2

Just two minutes earlier Lina was pouting because she couldn’t have more fried potatoes.  This girl is always smiling. Or pouting.

lambertswall

A nice mural on their wall.

milk

We made it home with our nice, yummy raw cow’s milk.  From a cute grass-fed Holstein.
