China’s One Child Policy plays out after a natural disaster.
The committee announced Monday that if a couple’s legally born child was killed in the earthquake, an illegal child under 18 years could be registered as a legal replacement. If the dead child was illegal, it said the family would no longer be responsible for outstanding fines, although parents would not be reimbursed for penalties already paid.

Isn’t that kind of the Great Government Leaders?

That is disgusting.

It is a very sad state of affairs.
I am thankful to be where i am and to have the choices that i do.
We need to rise up and stand for what we believe in matters such as these or our rights and freedoms will disappear by the time we have great-grandchildren.

I can’t believe this! Are they also going to pay for the sterilisation reversal operations for the women who had to be sterilised to prevent an ‘illegal’ child and are now childless???????

There are just not enough words in the English language to say what I’m feeling after reading this. I appreciate you posting Katie, and I blogged it as well.
Blessings, Dawn

This makes me sick, too. *gag* One of the saddest things I’ve ever read was about a forced abortion. It’s been years but if I think of it I still cry. :(

Years ago I read a story about what happens to “illegal” babies born in Chinese hospitals. Horrific. Yet our government still turns a blind eye as it has talks and does trade with this nation. Ironically most of the baby stuff in the US (including double stollers) is made in China.
May God use the effect of the earthquake to expose the evil that is happening in China.

How depraved have we become, that atrocities like the above can and do continue for years on end and it barely causes a ripple in the media.
Come Lord Jesus, Come.

I remember learning of this as a very young little girl and it stayed with me for months. I felt even then how wrong it was to order a couple to have only 1 or so children. *sigh* Reading this today I feel the same feelings. :(

Sad, sad, sad. And yet some in this country think it is wrong to have more than one child because we need to “save the earth”. We must carefully guard against this sick type of thinking. It is very sad!

I blogged this too and had the same visceral reaction to it.
