The Lewis Family
We went and visited at the hospital. Luke looks great and Dana and Tony are holding up as well. We only visited for a minute because they are only allowed to have 2 people in the PICU at a time. Which meant Tony had to leave so I could go in. Dana said that Luke was using a mask and snorkel and the pool was just a play pool that went from 3ft to 5ft. Dana was constantly counting heads and when she couldn’t find Luke she asked the kids and the boys found him at their feet. One of the older boys lifted him out and one of the Swager girls started CPR. Dana said that Luke was responsive before he was life flighted in that his pupils dilated and he was breathing. The nurse said his O2 sats were only in the 70s and that is why he was intubated.
I’m going to post what Chautona posted at the Woodshed in case there are those that read here that don’t read there.
An update from a friend of Dana’s
I just spoke with Dana. She said that Luke is doing well, in that he is responding to pain and even struggles against the ventilator when the anesthesia wears off a bit. They are keeping him under for the time being. Dana said he might be on the vent for a day or for a week. They just don’t know.
She sounded so dreadfully tired.
Please pray for Tony and Dana and for Luke. Also, please pray for the other children. The older children are scared to death because they understand the danger that Luke is in, and the littles are not used to ever being away from their parents. Please pray specifically that Joseph would rest tonight and that Dana will not get mastitis from not nursing regularly.
Please continued to pray for the Lewis family. It is hard enough to have a sick child but to be in a strange area far from home would be even harder. Also please keep the other kids in your prayers including the Swager’s daughter who performed CPR on Luke. We spoke with Mr. Swager in the hallway and he shared with us that his daughter is pretty shaken. I believe she is 20 years old.

Wow, amazing. I will be praying for Luke and everyone involved. I just finished Re-Certing my CPR training and I can really understand the young Swager girl’s struggles. Tough stuff.
Thank you for sharing.

I will be praying like crazy for Luke. I can totally relate to what The Lewis family is going through. My son Luke had a near drowning accident almost 4 years ago. The only thing that has kept us going through these “impossible years” has been the prayers of others. We have a blog howsluke.blogspot.com, if the parents have any questions or just want to talk to another family that can know how they are doing please have them e-mail me.

I just got both of these posts and will be praying today! May God hold them all close during this difficult time. May they get their son back – whole! May the peace that passes all understanding be theirs as a family today and in the days to come!
I prayed for him/them this morning not knowing yet it he was still with his parents or before the throne of grace. I am so happy to hear he appears to be doing well. I will continue to pray for his complete healing.
I will continue to pray.
Love,
Chas

My brother David’s son David was found at the bottom of the pool. Praise to the Lord he is fine. This happen several years ago. God is sovereign.
Please relay to Tony and Dana our prayers for them and their family. We are part of their former church Family at Mapelwood Baptist in Paris, TN. I had sent a word on her message board when we first heard and of course, no word. I’ve checked their website today and found no word, but praise God found your blog. We would like to have an update so that we may continue to know how to prayer for Tony and Dana and Luke and the team tending to Luke’s needs. Give them our love, and best and let them know that friends in Paris are praying for them also.
