Contra Dance

Remember I told you we were going to have a dance.  Well we did.   And it was a blast.  So sorry you could not make it this time.  We will see you there in September!!

This is Emma in the orange and her friend.  She and her mother, Mary, manned the front door and saved me a bunch of grief.  Don’t you love the decorations.  Jen and the V family did a fabulous job!!

Here we are doing the something dance.  I think that is Dottie H. holding the little boy in the back there and also Lori and Rick C.  The building was beautiful.

And some folks attempting a left hand star.  I swear, who knew holding hands could be so complicated.

All in all it was a grand time and we really enjoyed ourselves.  The next dance is tentatively planned for September.  Pencil that in on your calendars.

  • Looks like so much fun. *sniff, sniff*

  • All in all, it was fun. Thanks for posting pictures Katie! We look forward to the one in September :)

  • Wait! What happened to the guy on the floor in the last photo??!! Who knew contra dancing could be so brutal? Seriously, I hope he’s OK and that doesn’t deter him from attempting this kind of dancing again :)

I think that guy was with your group. Rowdy bunch you were. ;) It was nice to finally meet you. -Katie

  • Dottie H.

That’s my son Seth on the floor. He’s 9 and a boy so he’s fine. I didn’t even know he fell until he and my other children said that was him. He can’t wait for the next dance. My dh says he’ll be sure to ask for the night off so he can attend the next dance too. We had a great time.
