A Creek Creek Here and a Creek Creek There…
Everywhere a creek creek. When you live in the Ozarks it seems as if there is a creek within 20 minutes of any location. I may be wrong. Has anyone ever done a geographical study on this? Well get on that and get back to me ASAP. My experiential evidence says it is so. Then again I’ve never been one to worry about the true statistics if my experience has told me otherwise. I’m such a maverick that way.
My really cool neighbor at the old house told me about this park about 20 minutes south of Ozark. This is the same neighbor that brought us dinner the night we were moving. I’ll miss her.
Well, we were hot and bored and bored and bored. So we headed on over. Did I mention it was hot? This is my first summer in south west Missouri and I was quite pleased with the level of heat and humidity. I mean, it’s ok to glisten for several weeks out of the year right? Then again, who really cares about the heat if you have this right down the road.
Rock bottom creeks are magical things. Every state should have some. Isn’t there something the federal government can legislate regarding this?
With the sun dappled rippling water. I dunno, it’s bliss.
It is shallow enough for little people and deep enough for big people.
For those that I know will ask, yes, we have two of these within 15 minutes of the new house in Mansfield. We also have Baker Creek.

There was a “Vaccinate your baby” ad on your Blog Her strip when I pulled up you page. I nearly fell over.
I guess there’s no filtering that.
MO is nice that way — with the rock bottom creeks. Iowa — not so much. You are fortunate. ENJOY!
In a normal Missouri summer, I think you may glisten for more than “several weeks.” Missouri has been much wetter and cooler this year than normal. I think God is just breaking you in slowly :-)
I’m thinkin’ there is truly a creek just about every 20 minutes throughout much of the state. Missouri has tons of water (and flooding, for that matter).
You’re new place looks lovely. Have you picked out a nice place for visitors to set up there tents for a night or two? :-) We would love to visit southwest MO one of these days.
