Barack the Messiah?

I think I should be scared but I’m not. Are you scared?
The text:
"You are the instruments that God is gonna use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

Saw this a few days ago. I’m not scared about him being hailed the Islamic Messiah, I’m concerned about him being a US leader. The Koran states in no uncertain terms that anyone who does not bow to Allah should be killed, whatever it takes.

Matthew 24 : 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.

Thank you short. You posted just what I would done next if you hadn’t done it before me.
Obama is NOT going to win. McCain IS.
The pentecostal movement is known for tongue interpretation and prophecy. It has been prophisied that Palin has been called “For such a time as this” As in the days of Queen Ester, so shall this Palin be for her people, the children of the blood bought. And the Eagle (America) shall prevail and our God shall be before all men.
If you think you need to prepare for surviving the tribulation, don’t. Only 100 people will. The backslid tongue talking petecostal will be the 100. If you are not holy ghost filled, you will not know or make it.
Please read Acts 2:38,39. The day of pentecost is for all. Not just those on the day of pentecost. And its promised unto you and to YOUR children and to ALL those that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is just the 1st step to salvation. You have to finish it. You have to repent and accept the Lord, be baptized in full immersion in Jesus name only, and receive the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the spirit (Jesus) gives utterance. aka.the HOLY GHOST
You can ignore this warning, or you can intellectually listen and percieve this true commandment of the word of the Lord. The coming of the Lord is nearer than ever before, please….heed my warning. The holy ghost is the most wonderful thing that will ever happen to you. You will never be the same, and you will know it is the true and real salvation of Jesus for you.

I’m more afraid of anyone who takes Louis Farrakhan seriously than anyone he chooses to talk about. Obama and McCain can’t control who says what about them. And just FYI I’m a McCain fan, though I am sad to see what he is resorting to to get elected. The weather underground terrorist connection was more than a little stretch. And Palin scares the pants off me. Anyone who believes they are always right because they believe in God needs to spend more time reading the bible. God taught me that I am imperfect, not perfect.

wow!

What will be really sad is when somebody kills Obama in the name of God because of all the rhetoric. Just like the shooter and the Unitarian congregation.
The great thing about this country is religious FREEDOM. Freedom to be a muslim. Or a Baptist. Or nothing at all. Vote your beliefs, sure, but don’t spread lies. Obama is a church-going Christian. That’s been proven over and over. It does not mean I agree with his politics.
Sad to see that you wouldn’t approve of a muslim president because the values of true Islam (not the whackos) are very similar to those of Christianity, including “Thou shalt not kill”. Not “Thou shalt not kill, except when I disagree with you.” Both are inherently peaceful religions.

And for Ginger, Exodus 35:2 says anyone working on the Sabbath should be put to death. Sorry all you Target employees. And Leviticus tells us that slaves are OK, as long as they are from other nations.

Becky, I have a hard time believing that Islam is an “inherently peaceul religion” when its very founder, Mohammed, told his first followers that they would convert others to Islam “by the sword”. If you read the Koran, it IS in there. Read history. Mohammed was not peace-loving guy ready to turn the other cheek like Jesus.

I meant “peaceful”. Stupid fingers and keyboard.

I’m not scared. My God is bigger than Barack Obama (or for that matter, any other politician). I lived in bondage to fear for too many years to go back now.

I think it’s pretty unfortunate that certain people are generally stating that the Koran is inherently violent. First of all, our Bible (which non-extremist Muslims do indeed respect, as ‘Allah,’ simply means God in Arabic, and they do regard Him as the same God of the Jewish/Christian faiths—and our Old Testament figures DO exist and are regarded as prophetic figures in the Koran, believe it or not!) is very violent towards non-believers and sinful people as well. All throughout Kings, there is much violence. In Numbers, we’re told that the Lord tells Moses to put the sabbath-breaker to death. How can we look at another faith and point fingers? All I know is that no human has it exactly right. I am an imperfect Christian, I am happy to admit it, and grateful that God’s grace has saved me from myself. Recently, in Dayton, a mosque was gassed because of the hate distributed in the Obsession documentary. Babies and Children were exposed to harmful and dangerous fumes. Just as this is a case of hate towards a religion by extreme individuals who feel that they are supreme to other human beings, there has been violence in every religious sect by extremists. My point is, we can be upset and angry at Muslim-Extremist violence, but we cannot look on their faith as a whole and call it violent without examining our own. Praise God for those people in all faith groups promoting peace, respect, and love.

Becky, I recommend you watch the dvd: Islam: What the West Needs to Know. You are misquoting the Koran.
October 12th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
It is nice to see people educating themselves and others about Islam. I really appreciate it and I feel welcomed here and respected.
October 12th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
ginger: what misquote - Becky didn’t quote the Koran at all, she was quoting the Bible.
And Helen : that was a beautiful response. Thank you.

I hear the mosque five times a day. I am in a predominantly Muslim neighbourhood. My God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He sent His only Son to die for my sins. The god of the Quran does not claim to be the same or do the same. In fact, five times a day I hear the adherents to Islam saying the opposite is true. Allah is great, Allah is great, there is no god but Allah, Mohammed is his messenger. At different times of the month and year they add other things which would make your hair stand on end. There is no PEACE without the Prince of Peace. Peace does not mean the cessation of war. If that were so the Bible would be untrue. There WILL be wars, there WILL be rumours of wars, nation will rise up against nation…. so do not be taken in by a false religion of ‘peace’.

Jael, see her last paragraph. She’s saying that the Koran says “thou shalt not kill” like the Bible does. It doesn’t say that.
October 13th, 2008 at 8:23 am
actually Ginger, it says it in lots of places. Usually with a cravat, because there are some people you’re allowed to kill (before you say it, ask yourself - is a Biblical justification for the death penalty?)
short: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is also the God of Muslims. Abraham had two sons; Isaac had a brother. allah is simply the Arabic word for God. Really. It’s simply the word for God. The might be wrong, and they are not redeemed by the Son, but honestly - they do worship the same God. All Jews, Christians and Muslims do, though Jews and Muslims do not acknowledge the divinity of the son. We are all called People of the Book.
Extremists give everyone in that group a bad name. Should we Christians be held to account for the actions of the Army of God, or the Christian Phalangist Militia in Lebanon? Of course not. Some Muslims have done terrible things in the name of God. Some Christians have done the same. Let they that are without sin throw the first stone.
October 13th, 2008 at 9:42 am
Jael - I have friends who used to adhere to the Allah (god) of the Quran. Now they KNOW the only TRUE Allah(God) of the Bible through His only Son. Different Persona and different characteristics completely. My Allah (God) has a Son. Their Allah (god) absolutely does not. Come and talk to the Imam who lives in my building. He will totally disagree with your statement.

This is an excerpt from pbs.org on the word “Allah” :
“For Muslims, God is unique and without equal. They attempt to think and talk about God without either making Him into a thing or a projection of the human self. The Koran avoids this by constantly shifting pronouns to discourage believers from inadvertently reifying God and creating any physical image of Him.
God is known in Arabic as Allah to distinguish Him from ilah, which could refer to any of the gods once worshiped in Arabia. Just as one might say in English that the French or Germans worship God, not Dieu or Gott, so one should properly say that Muslims worship God, not Allah, which is simply the word for God (with a capital G) in the Arabic language. Giving a different name to the one God worshipped by the followers of Muhammad erroneously implies that their God is different from the one God worshipped by Jews or Christians.”

Thank you, Jael. Let us, as Christians and human beings desiring to be a model of respect and love, refrain from the stone throwing.

OT: Farrakhan also implied (at least in the article I read) that he didn’t want to drag Obama’s campaign with his nutty organization’s beliefs.
But I personally would find it a matter of concern if my candidate came endorsed by tyrants, terrorists, and crazy racists like Farrakhan.
Nation of Islam isn’t the same thing as Islam, by the way. It’s a cult, and has nothing to do with Muslims.
And Becky does have the Koran all wrong. Check out Robert Spencer’s series: “Blogging the Qu’ran.” It will put to rest all claims of “religion of peace.”

Misspelled Qur’an. Sorry!
October 15th, 2008 at 8:49 am
Yes, Christians and Jews who speak Arabic also call God “Allah.” But the “Allah” pictured in the Qur’an is not the same “Allah” portrayed in the Jewish or Christian Scriptures. So arguing over the *name* “Allah” is merely semantics. Read the Qur’an itself and ask yourself whether you worship the same God that Muslims do.
