Hello!
I left a comment on your garden post but I wasn’t sure how often you check older posts….so I thought I would leave another comment here. I really enjoy your blog and I love that you are starting fresh with a new garden. I would love you to take a look at our garden blog and see if you can get a few hints on how we garden. I hope you like it!

Oh how did I miss it?? Thanks Katie…you’re a peach!
Ahh..ok, so its pretty much like making a t-shirt dress, only sewing the bodice instead of using a T-shirt.
I’m in awe of the way you sew. I would have pinned the neck casing like crazy and gathered the skirt different and it would have taken me two days to make the dress. LOL I’m going to try your way next.
Where did you get the size tags?
Yeah!!! Thank you for this!!! I have purchased so many dress patterns for my daughter but they completely intimidate me. You made it look so simple, I would have taken extra steps like pressing the casing and running a double stitch (basting) to do the gathers (plus ironing at every step…). Your way makes perfect sense and just creates less work!!!
Do your girls ever wear bloomers under their dresses or is the length enough to keep them modest? I am still trying to sort out my daughter’s “new” wardrobe since switching to dresses/skirts only. I would love to know how you made the size tags too!
So sweet! I love making comfy, simple, girlie dresses like this for my granddaughter. Thank you so much for letting me add yours to my collection!
I just love these dresses and you make it look so easy. Can you tell me the brand/number of your pattern(s). I’ve looked for some and cannot find any with the elasticized neckline. Thanks so much.
Frances,
I’ve made tons of these cute, easy dresses after watching Katie’s video, but I did it without buying a pattern. I used a peasant top tutorial (link listed below) for the top of the dress and just added a skirt in the length desired:

Thanks Robyn!
