The Beginning
I’ll begin my journey to a healthy pregnancy March 1st. I am 34 years old and have had 5 pregnancies so far. We also adopted 7 children so my total is 12 children at home. This pregnancy will be lucky number 13. I would like to eat a healthy WAP diet for 12 months before I try to conceive.
I am still nursing my baby, Jodi, so I won’t be able to do any intense cleansing but I will do a bentonite/cilantro cleanse for 90 days. Jodi will be 2 in January 2010 and I would like to fall pregnant March 2010.
Here are the things I plan to do:
Follow the Diet for Pregnant and Nursing Mothers
Maca powder (one pill daily)
Iodoral
Selenium
Cal/Mag/Zinc
Thyroid Pills (I have no thyroid gland)
Butter oil
Join me on my journey.

I may be starting the pregnancy journey much sooner than that…. like now… gotta see a dr to be sure.
I have been hearing about bentonite for cleansing. Can you tell me more? How to do it and what it does?
Thanks!
Candice
Katie wanna do a post or hey even just an email telling me what all your listed supplements are and why you’ll be taking them? The food part I get but supplement and cleanse wise I could use some education still. Just starting out this pregnancy I am wanting to have a really healthy pregnancy this go round especially starting it overweight, I’ll need to pay extra attention due to blood sugar issues, etc.

Sounds like a good plan, Katie. Do you use Armor to replace your thyriod? I’m assuming you do since your diet is so natural, but curious to hear from you! May God bless you and give you a healthy, easy pregnancy when it’s time. I would love to have another baby.

I too would love to hear about the supplements you are taking….also, why you have no thyroid. Do you get “morning sickness” when you are pregnant? It will be interesting to see if you can alleviate it with your WAPF diet. I did not. But I suspect it is a long term deficiency in B vitamins as well as A & D and I didn’t do any “prep” before becoming pregnant again. The new cow will certainly help build your nutritional levels!! If you can make kefir, from what I’ve read (on Dom’s Kefir Site), it really enhances the B-vitamin availability in milk.
Katie,
I am beginning my journey (ok, so I started almost a year ago….) to a NT eating style/culture in my home. I enjoy your posts on food/health/nutrition. When I decided to purchase the NT book and begin the journey, I found your blog by “accident” while looking for large family blogs. I have been inspired. Funny thing how God works. I look forward “watching” your journey.
AH! For a moment I thought you were already pregnant again! But knowing that you will be next year is fun too :) This is my healthiest pregnancy so far and I can tell the difference for sure!
