So do I! :) Good for you guys!

I don’t even have to ask what that is – I can just tell by the ecstatic look on Jenna’s face. :)

  • Candice

LOL. I guess that Jenna’s hands and shoulders aren’t going to be getting stronger anymore. :-)

  • Very nice! I wish it were in our budget. But I’ve got 2 other milkers in training that are coming along nicely. ;-)

So how much milk are you getting? And how are you using it?

  • Laura in UT

that will make your day easier!

  • Ahh…I’ve been trying to talk my husband into one, but he thinks I should wait until I’m milking more than one cow. So, instead, I’m trying to talk him into a goat milker, since we’ll have 2 of them in milk this spring. Can you share where you got it?

  • Mariposa

THAT is hilarious! Love the picture.
I’m sure Rosie is as happy about it as Jenna.

  • Kristin, We are getting 5 gallons/day and the dogs and pigs are getting some of it in addition to us drinking gobs of it. A friend brought by a cheese making book and some materials so I’m going to try that. YUM!!

Gina, Ebay!! And sounds like you need another cow. ;) We are on the lookout for one.

  • Love that picture! Jenna is so like you…except for the fact that she is not afraid of the larger farm animals. :)

  • Wow, how nice!
When you say, We love technology, I makes me think Napoleon Dynamite…
You know the end, where Kip is singing to LaFawnda?
I love technology, but not as much as you, you see.
Gotta watch if you don’t know.
    Hee hee.
    Love,
    Chas

Please pray for me. I SO COVET your raw milk!

  • LOVE IT! I was thinking about how much easier the milking would be if you guys had one of those wonderful milking machines – I know I want one when we get our milk cow one day! It’s wonderful to know how to milk by hand in case of emergency, but you don’t need to suffer when we live in the 21st century. Enjoy that beautiful, real milk!

I hope you’re going to make some cottage cheese! My favorite food guy on TV said it was the only thing skim milk is good for. Then after he rinsed the curds, he poured half and half all over them. Looked soooo good!

  • Good for you guys!

Although I have to say, I have a machine but would rather hand milk. I had a lot more problems over time with the machine milking, whether machine issues or cow, and it is loud and not aesthetically pleasant at all. That is just me, but when Jocelyn is fresh for the first time I will be hand milking and the machine will be collecting dust.

I wish we could have dairy right now.

  • WOW! Jenna looks sooo happy!

Do you guys not like hand milking?

  • What does the cow think of technology?

  • Since I don’t have a lovely milking machine I want to know….which takes longer…..milking by hand or cleaning the milking machine?
