Real Food Wednesday – Meal Ideas

It’s time for Real Food Wednesdays again. I am going to share some meal ideas that I meant to share several weeks ago. Please go visit Cheeseslave to see the other Real Food Wednesday folks.

Here is my breakfast the other day. Jeff made me two fried eggs (leave the yolks runny, Mercola says they are healthier that way), fried asparagus, pork sausage (the kids ate it all and that was all that was left), tomato slices and cheddar cheese. It was darn good.

Here is a lunch I made myself one day when Jeff was gone and the kids had something I didn’t like. Scallops, red potato and asparagus. Hey, it’s in season, ok? You can also see my pint of milk, cup of cod liver oil and my pills.
This is one of my favorite breakfasts. We have 2 fried eggs, a bit of white rice, butter oil, my pills, clo, milk, kefir and the YUM-O chicken broth. I love to have a small bowl of broth with my breakfast. It helps with digestion, absorption and it tastes good too.
I’ll be posting the winner of the book give away this evening. Stay tuned.

Yummy! Is that chopped zucchini in the broth? And I don’t mean to sound ignorant, but what is butter oil?
A very hungry Shelly!
I love how you guys eat! It’s elegant yet simple, with a good nutritional balance. We all tend to eat way too much; I’d like to move towards a better balance ;)
Katie, you realize you took a picture of white rice on your plate, right? aaack! I’m going to eat my white-flour no-knead bread guilt free, now. ;-)
you eat your white rice and eggs and I’ll eat my white toast and eggs, and we’ll all live happily ever after. mmmkay? LOL.
double comment, oops.
Not to sound dumb, but how do you fry asparagus? I’ve only ever had it steamed or roasted. It looks delicious and I have some in the fridge waiting to be cooked! I actually have eggs, tomatoes, and cheese as well…guess I know what I’ll be having for breakfast tomorrow! Yum!
Yum!! All that asparagus is making me drool…
I take fish oil (not pills, but a spoonful of the liquid) every morning. Can I take cod liver oil too? Should I be? Just curious.
I may need to start drinking a cup of broth each morning if it helps that much.
