How I Ambulate

Hello, my name is Jodi and someone has asked for an update on me.  Yes, me.   Now that it is getting warmer I spend alot of time outside.  When that happens one of the bigger kids is watching me and that leaves Mom lots of time to do other things so she is usually not [...]

Outside Play

My goal, when possible, is to get the kids (and myself) out of the house each and every day.  We watch the weather carefully and if there is going to be a day with weather above 45* we get all bundled up and head out – even if only for 15 minutes.
This particular day it [...]

She’s ONE!!

Now you listen here, you baby.  I’m the boss here.  I’m bigger than you and I’m a year old after all.
Actually, Jodi, that baby is older than you.

Huh?  But she’s smaller and not as smart and Mother Dear, that just can’t be.
It is true, Daughter Dear.  But you are cuter!

I’m just not sure what to [...]

My Daughter’s First Tan Line.

My baby is 8 months old now and it is always so fun to see a child’s personality emerge.  Jodi loves being outside.  She’d be outside before she’d be anywhere else, it seems.  The other day it rained and we were forced to open the front door so Jodi could sit in front of it [...]

Since I Missed the Contest…

over at Jeff’s board…

Jodi: You did WHAT?  My chance to break into show business and you missed it?
Me: I apologize profusely Jodi.

Jodi: Now I must ponder my loss.  I may never forgive you Mother.
Me: Take as long as you need.

Jodi: Oh!  There you are!!  Hi!  I love you!!
Me: It’s a good [...]

Jodi and Jodi.

I am assuming that Sarah is holding some sort of grudge against me for not posting pictures of Jodi in the wonderful and amazing longies we swapped for.  I am assuming that because she still has not posted pictures of her daughter in the shimmery dresses I made.  I thought about crying but decided to [...]

Bait and Switch

Hey Mom. Come here. Let’s play a game.
Which game is this?
The one where I smile and then as soon as you pick up the camera I get a perplexed look on my face.
Ummm, I think we’ve played this game before.
Come onnnnnn.
Hmph. :::picking up camera:::

Oh Jodiiiii. Hi Cutie Girl.
What is that black [...]

Jodi Is Fun.

We have always been pretty relaxed about our babies.  It’s never been a big deal to us if baby is toted around and kinda passed about.  So long as everybody is happy and no one is crying it’s all good.  Plus that means I am able to do other fun things…like laundry…and cooking.  Uh-huh.

Junie: [...]

Why Do I Sacrifice?

So there we were last night, the kids already fed and tucked in bed.  I wanted a steak.  In years past it was kind of a tradition to have a steak dinner after the kids were slumbering.  Thankfully we had two steaks left from our grass fed beef stash.
As I was preparing the meat [...]

Cabbage

Hey Mom, we need to talk.

Yes Jodi?
You know I don’t like to inconvenience you.  I just ask that you hold me constantly, feed me with great regularity, pat my back at all hours of the day and night, sleep with me, give me lots of kisses, rock me in the rocker, change my stinky pants, [...]
