T-Minus 5 Days

40% is nothing.  It’s way less than 50% and as the previous commenter said " ‘isolated’ and ’scattered’ can be pretty hit and miss."

Mostly miss.

T- Minus 6 Days

Is anyone else obsessing over the weather report in Mansfield, MO?

I know it’s just gonna blow over.  It is.

Winter Is Over!!

So all of the big jackets went away.  Sorta.  How exactly do you store heavy jackets x 14?  Then there’s the snow suits x 12.  And gloves x 358.  We just tripped over them for 2 days until new Rubbermaid containers arrived. Then they all disappeared until next year.
Jenna and Jacob were lamenting the other [...]

What Happened?

I thought we were working on a big, lovely garden.  Jeff and the boys had been working so hard and things were finally coming together.  Then it snowed.

And it was beautiful.  Even if it was fluffy snow that is really not good for sledding.

There’s my littlest daughter son all dressed in pink.  And he is [...]

Big People Sledding and Stopping.

Even Jeff took a turn sledding.  Shiloh and I are sharing the same thought.  She’s such a good dog.

Jenna gave him a good shove.

And then Jeff tried to steer/stop/slow down.

Thankfully, he had already made an arrangement with the kids that they would be his brakes.  Joshua seems to have caught some air.  Do you suppose [...]

Outside Play

My goal, when possible, is to get the kids (and myself) out of the house each and every day.  We watch the weather carefully and if there is going to be a day with weather above 45* we get all bundled up and head out – even if only for 15 minutes.
This particular day it [...]

More Icy Goodness

Happy Happy New Year to you.  The weather is coooold today and Jeff is out there with John and Jacob putting fence posts in.  I’d take some pictures but it is very cold.  Did I say that already?  I think I’ll just stick with keeping the home fires burning. Literally.

These pictures are from the [...]

Ice Season

has begun.  Only this time it was more like this strange frost stuff that stuck out all over like cacti needles.

It was pretty cool (cool, get it?) but not nearly as photographically interesting as the ice storms last year.  But I know they will come.

When it is icey outside I do my farm chores in [...]

First Snow, Second Puppy

Last Saturday we received our first snow.  Here it is coming down in all of it’s snowy goodness.

This is a better view of the snow.  We maybe got an inch.  But it didn’t stay around long.  Who is that in the background?

This is Sandro.  He was acquired after a rather scary visit by a [...]

Fall Fashion

Sometimes when you are busy running about and doing farmy type things like jumping in leaves and taking pictures you lose sense of what is good and right in the world of fashion.  Sometimes you forget the rules and kind of forge your own path without regard to what other people may think about you.
But [...]
